With our support, WWF is helping to give forests back to the Earth. A forest is more than just a collection of trees. It is a balanced ecosystem of trees, plants, and wildlife. Forests are also essential to human life. They provide food, regulate water systems, and play a critical role in fighting climate change. Trees store CO₂ in their trunks, roots, and the soil, helping to keep the planet liveable. Despite their importance, forests are disappearing at an alarming rate. Together with WWF, PestScan is taking action to restore forests. By doing so, we contribute positively to the climate and global biodiversity.
Giving Forests Back to the Earth
Through the “Give Forests Back to the Earth” initiative, WWF is committed to protecting ecosystems, preserving endangered species, and supporting biodiversity across the globe. PestScan acknowledges the impact of human activity on the environment and proudly supports WWF’s mission to create a world where people and nature thrive in harmony.
The Impact of Deforestation and Climate Change
A forest is a complex ecosystem where trees, plants, mammals, birds, and insects depend on one another to survive. With global temperatures rising, the effects of climate change are becoming increasingly visible. We are seeing more extreme weather events, longer droughts, and record-breaking temperatures around the world. Forests help fight these effects, but they are being lost at a rapid pace. The most common causes of deforestation are agriculture, livestock farming, mining, and infrastructure development.
Rebuilding the Atlantic Forest
WWF focuses on protecting and restoring the Atlantic Forest, a unique ecosystem that stretches across Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay. This area is home to an extraordinary number of animal species and more than 400 types of trees. Sadly, over 80 percent of this forest has already been lost.
Thanks to our financial contribution, WWF is able to plant new trees and support reforestation. The global goal is to plant one trillion trees by 2050. This effort helps create strong, climate-resilient forests that continue to grow. It also restores the soil and promotes sustainable planting and care of native species.
As a proud Business Supporter, PestScan is helping WWF and other partners make a lasting contribution to the climate and biodiversity on Earth.
